This is a print from my award-winning coverage of the refugee crisis in Europe in 2015.

The photo is taken in Serbia and shows a refugee girl standing at the Serbian/Hungarian border at a barbed-wire fence looking into the European Union.

Hungary closed its borders after many thousands of people on their way to North and Western Europe started entering the country thus stranding many families and children in no man's land betwen Serbia and Hungary.
